Information We Process

WZipChat is designed to work entirely offline. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or data from your device to our servers or any third party.

Data You Provide Access To

When you import a WhatsApp chat export (.zip file), the app accesses the following data solely for the purpose of displaying it to you within the app:

• Chat Messages: Text content, sender information, and timestamps.
• Media Files: Images, videos, audio files, and documents included in the export.

This data is processed locally on your device and is never uploaded.

How We Use Your Data

The data accessed from the ZIP file is used exclusively to provide the app's core functionality, which includes:

• Displaying your chat history in a readable, WhatsApp-like interface.
• Allowing you to browse and preview media files from the chat.
• Enabling search functionality through your messages.
• Allowing you to save media files to your device's local storage upon your explicit request.

Data Storage and Security

All data from your chat export is processed and stored in a temporary, sandboxed directory on your device. This data exists only while you are actively using the app with an imported file.

The temporary data is cleared when you close the app or import a new chat file. We do not create permanent copies of your data unless you explicitly use the "Download Media" feature.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not share any of your data with third parties. Period.

Since all processing is local and the app does not connect to the internet to perform its core functions, there is no mechanism for us to access, view, or share your chat messages or media files. The technologies used, such as Provider for state management and Archive for ZIP extraction, all operate locally on your device.

Permissions

WZipChat requires storage permissions on your device. This permission is used for one purpose only: to allow you to select and read the WhatsApp chat export ZIP file you wish to view. The app does not access any other files or directories.

Usage Tracking Exclusion

The application does not include any analytics or tracking services. We do not monitor your usage, collect crash reports automatically, or track any of your interactions with the app. Your activity within WZipChat is completely private.

Children's Privacy

Our application does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Since the app operates entirely offline and collects no user data, we do not have a way of knowing the age of our users. The use of the app is intended for individuals who are legally able to use WhatsApp.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page with an updated effective date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
